This ceramic sheath with 3.5mm heavy thickness is for protecting the high Temp Kiln Thermocouple to operate in the kiln.
It prevents the thermocouple element from expose to the reducing gas and extends its life.
It will also extend the thermocouple's life even for electric heated kiln.
Another major advantage of these protection tubes is that you can replace your old thermocouples without changing the protection tube.
The tube can be easily replaced independently from the thermocouples. They are not sealed or cemented together.
