GROM Military Unit Cichociemnych Paratroopers of the Home Army - Special Forces military unit formed on July 13, 1990 [1] [2] (Military Unit 2305) in response to the shooting by terrorists on March 30, 1990 in Beirut of two Poles, in retaliation for the help of the Polish government in emigrating Jews from the USSR to Israel [3].
JW GROM is prepared to conduct a wide range of special operations: rescue operations, direct actions, anti-terrorism activities (CT). The main idea, also declared nowadays, was a wide range of rescue operations (e.g. NCE, CSAR, HR), especially in the territories of hostile countries, as well as other countries affected by war, crisis, etc. Its creation began in 1990, with the help of the Americans, using the best experience foreign, especially the United States of America, Great Britain and Germany (GSG 9). Units to which JW GROM can be compared in terms of purpose are the American 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment "Delta" (so-called Delta Force), SEALs DEVGRU - Naval Special Warfare Development Group, British SAS or Israeli Sajjeret Matkal.
