    Description

World War 2, Polish Army in Exile (PSZ) 1940-1941 screw back, veteran metal regimental badge of the Polish Officers Legion (Legia Oficerska) of the Polish Forces Middle East , a post-war veteran's issue insignia. Great shape, no damage, this is actual picture of the badge.
Legia Oficerska was formed under Polish Independent Carptahian Rifle Brigade in Palestina, and it was made up of officers only who due to numerous reasons (age mostly) could not join the brigade. Members of the Legion performed as privates and NCOs despite being commissioned officers. Unit conducted security/sentry service over British RAF airfields in Egypt until 1941 when it was disbanded.
